Paulina Acosta was challenged by her professor to hack into Apple’s smart home ecosystem, an experience that revealed the company’s impressive cybersecurity measures. Although she couldn’t crack the system, the challenge sparked her admiration for Apple and set her on a career path in cybersecurity. Through hands-on learning at FIU, extracurricular clubs, and rigorous interview preparation, she honed the skills needed to succeed. Today, Acosta works as an Apple engineer on the Proximity Systems team, applying the technical expertise she developed during her FIU journey.
