Biography

Patricia McDermott-Wells is an Associate Teaching Professor at Florida International University (FIU) in the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences. With over 45 years of experience as a professional software developer and system software specialist, she has worked across various platforms, from mainframes to PCs. McDermott-Wells is passionate about sharing her extensive knowledge with the next generation of technology professionals. Her research interests include software and technology solutions for visually impaired students and alternative input technologies. She has been actively involved in the academic community through teaching and research, contributing to the development of practical solutions in technology.
