Dr. S.S. Iyengar is a Distinguished University Professor and Ryder Professor of Computer Science at Florida International University (FIU), Miami, and the founding director of the Discovery Lab. Previously, he served as the Roy Paul Daniels Distinguished Professor and Chairman of the Computer Science department at Louisiana State University for over 20 years. He has held visiting positions at prestigious institutions including Oak Ridge National Lab, Jet Propulsion Lab, IISc, IGCAR, University of Paris, Tsinghua University, and KAIST. 

    Dr. Iyengar’s research spans High-Performance Algorithms, Biomedical Computing, Sensor Fusion, and Intelligent Systems, supported by NSF, DARPA, ONR, DOE/ORNL, NASA, and other agencies. Notably, he has developed computational methods for cancer genome research and patented a low-cost device for early glaucoma intervention. He has authored over 500 research papers and 22 books, with significant contributions like the Brooks-Iyengar Algorithm.
