    Dr. Karlene Cousins is Chair and Professor of Information Systems and Business Analytics at FIU Business. She is the founding Director of the ATOM Think Tank and has led initiatives such as ITWomen NextGen to boost women in technology. With experience in the financial, manufacturing, aviation, and healthcare sectors, including Deloitte, she brings a strategic perspective to her work. Her research examines the effects of emerging technologies like mobile payments, blockchain, and cryptocurrency. She received the Emerald Publishing Group Outstanding Research Award in 2016 and was recognized as a top Black educator by Legacy Magazine. Dr. Cousins is a Senior Editor for *the Production and Operations Management Journal* and an Associate Editor for *the European Journal of Information Systems*. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University, a J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, and degrees in Computer Science and Physics, and Computer Information Systems from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica.
